Oliver’s Camp Asilia Africa

This camp was established in 1992 by Paul Oliver, and it is for safari enthusiasts interested in more adventure. Located in the remote Tarangire National Park, this camp offers luxury in an uncongested part of East Africa.

From this camp, Tarangire presents a true wilderness experience which normally lacking in most of the renowned wildlife reserves. Inside this reserve you will be able to enjoy wildernesses fly camping, Off-road adventures, walking safaris and night drives are all available in this part of undomesticated Tanzania, in which some of the finest safari guides in this business will lead you through this great wilderness.

Found in the southern part of Tanzania’s isolated Tarangire National Park, the Oliver’s Camp together with Little Oliver’s Camp are a reflection of the echo of the trailblazing camps which first started safaris in East African.

In April and May, when the annual rains come to an end, the lush grasslands and profusion of wildflowers provide the best opportunity for walking safaris, while the approaching dry season from August through to October brings vast herds of wildlife to the watery wetlands on the fringes of Oliver’s Camp. At this time, Tarangire boasts the highest concentration of mammals in any of Tanzania’s renowned national parks, yet as the November rains return the herds depart and the return of migratory birds provides ample entertainment for twitchers.

Accommodation at Oliver’s Camp Asilia

There are 10 en-suite spacious safari tents that offer the true bush luxury without unnecessary extras; the large outside shower is maybe the only extravagance you will gladly allow.

This is a camp where its red leather armchairs go with the ochre soils away from the deck; where bed headboards are uniquely hand-carved from the huge African mahogany trees as well as the baobab trees that puncture the distant horizon as watched from your own veranda.

At night, nothing more than just the canvas stands between your king size bed and the African wilderness beyond. The Meals are served jointly in the main lodge, and then around the campfire you will enjoy some whiskies as well as safari tales narrate up to late in the night.
